RELIEF FOR KAKELO KAMROTH RESIDENTS AS COUNTY ISSUES TITLE DEEDS

More than 1700 residents of kakelo kamroth sub location at
Kokwanyo ward in Homa Bay County have been given title deeds.
The beneficiaries have lived at kakelo since independence but did
not have titles to the land they occupied.
Governor Cyprian Awiti said the move was aimed at ending land
wrangles, which has been a menace to the economic development
of the area. The first batches of title deeds were disbursed in
collaboration with the national lands commission at Sh26million.
“Since inception, the County Government has issued 80,000 title
deeds across the County to enable people subject their land to
economic use,” the Governor said.
Area MCA Omuga Oriango helped achieve this by working closely
with surveyor to effectively plan and address land issues in the
sub-location.
Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Governor, Hamilton
Orata, CEC member for transport and infrastructure Nicholas
Koriko, Energy chief executive Pharres Ratego among others.
