HOMA BAY COUNTY UNVEILS ECDE CENTERS IN KASIPUL SUB COUNTY
Governor Awiti officially opened two ECDE centers at Kauko and Kasimba Lwala primary schools at east kamagak ward in kasipul Sub County. The department of Education and ICT recently completed construction of the classrooms after 3 months following an earlier inspection of the centers by the chief executive member for Education and ICT Prof. Mattah. Governor Cyprian Awiti noted the County Government has employed 130 ECDE teachers in Kasipul Sub County alone, an implication of the commitment to establish strong learning foundations. The classroom can accommodate 40 pupils. “Children will no longer study under mud-housed classrooms, this will be a thing of the past because they will now be learning in a conducive environment,” Awiti said. He added that “Education is a key indicator for development and the government is committed to early childhood education,” He said.
Education Chief Executive Prof. Mattah urged teachers to maintain the structures to enable the children enjoy the learning environment. He further appealed to the east kamagak community to offer a playground that will be vital in the development of early childhood education.
Chief Officer for Education and ICT Eunice Owino echoed the plea by Mattah for head teachers to maintain the ECDE classrooms for the kids to learn in a better environment.
Present at the event were area MCA Sam Okumu, County Public Service Board chair Dan Ogada, Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries Chief Executive Eliud Ochieng among others.
